    Daily Schedule includes:

    Breakfast Time and Individual Activities Children will work on signing in, answering the Question of the Day, writing their names and drawing in their daily journal. 

    Morning Meeting Whole class meetings may include singing a good morning song, reviewing the “Question of the Day”, taking attendance, learning a finger-play or rhyme, introductions to new materials, group discussions, shared writing experiences, and introducing topics of study.

    Music and Movement Children learn about music by listening and responding to many sounds. Children will have the opportunity to play instruments, learn and make up songs, use their bodies to express ideas, respond to music and convey feelings.

    Small Group Times Small group experiences are designed to meet particular instructional goals. During small group teachers introduce a new concept or materials, teach a specific skill, encourage conversations and the sharing of ideas, extend children’s thinking and observe and document what children know and can do.

    Read Aloud During large group read-alouds children will be introduced to new stories, hear new vocabulary, dramatize the actions of the characters, ask questions about the story and predict what will happen next.

    Lunch 

    Rest Time Children will have time for rest and/or a quiet activity. 

    Choice Time Children choose from a variety of different activities available in the classroom interest areas: Blocks, Dramatic Play, Toys and Games (Fine Motor/Math), Discovery (Science), Library, Writing, Art, etc. They initiate their own play, either alone or with other children. They learn how to work independently, take turns, share, and play cooperatively with others.

    P.M. Snack

    Gross Motor/Outside Times Children will spend time climbing, running, jumping, bouncing balls, and using additional equipment to develop large-muscle control, motor coordination, and balance.
