Mrs. Kate Stolte

Welcome to PreK!

My name is Kate Stolte and I am excited to be teaching PreK at the Lillian M. Dunfee School.  This is my fifth year teaching for the Barnegat Township School District.  Formerly, I taught preschool and prek at a private nursery school.  For four years I taught twos/preschool/prek, became the Head Teacher for three years and then took over as Director a few months prior to being hired by our district.  I taught preschool for two years at Donahue and am happy to be teaching in my third year now at LMDS. I was humbled to be chosen as the first "Teacher of the Year" for the Barnegat Township School District's preschool program last year!

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Rutgers and then completed my P-3 teacher's certification through Montclair State University.

My husband and I live in Barnegat with our three boys.  My stepson Kidron graduated from Barnegat High School in 2015, took some time off from school to travel, and is currently studying Finance at OCC.  My son Riley completed K-5 at Donahue and is now a freshmen at Barnegat High School.  My son Sean is a third grader at the Joseph T. Donahue school.  We spend most of our free time on the sidelines cheering for our boys and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Growing up, my sister and I (We're twins!) were the oldest of five children so at an early age I began to help care for young children.  In second grade my teacher nicknamed me "Mama Kate" because of my kind and nurturing demeanor.  I love working with this age group, teaching and caring for your children as if they were my own and look forward to another wonderful school year!
