It is an honor and privilege to have been chosen by my colleagues as teacher of the year of the Russell O. Brackman Middle School. I have been a Social Studies teacher at the Russell O. Brackman Middle School since 2003. What I love most about teaching Social Studies is that I get the opportunity to share my love for History with my students everyday. I am fortunate to teach beside so many talented teachers who inspire me to be creative in my instruction of Social Studies. Beside my role as a classroom teacher, I am involved in after school activities with the students. I am the advisor for the 7th Grade Academic Bowl, After School Assistance for Social Studies, and the Interact Club here at Russell O. Brackman. I also have the privilege to serve as an executive member of the Barnegat Education Association. My achievements in Barnegat could not have been accomplished without my supportive and caring administration.
