• MENTORING PROGRAM

The Mentoring Program is a voluntary program in which staff members and students get together weekly during non-instructional time within the school day.  The purpose of the program is to provide students with an adult in the school setting who offers friendship, support and the kind of encouragement and understanding that builds a child's self-confidence and independence. Mentors and their students, known as mentees, develop this relationship in many ways, including participation in fun activities such as sharing lunch, playing games, or working on arts and crafts with one another. Mentoring is widely recognized as promoting healthy and positive relationships, and strengthening connections to peers, school and family.
