We have no homework, no graded tests, & no quizzes in basic skills math. We complete an on-line assessment at the beginning of the year to determine what strengths you have in math. Our focus is on basic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division, as well as order of operations, fractions, & place value.
A typical day in basic skills math
Beginning of Class: basic operations practice
Middle of Class- various activities such as math sharks, Smart board activities, on-line math programs, worksheets, flashcards, & math games.
End of Class: Pre-teaching and reviewing core math concepts.
