Mrs. Angela Wyckoff, School Counselor

7th grade counselor

Hello everyone!

My name is Angela Wyckoff and I am the 8th grade counselor for the Russell O. Brackman Middle School.

School Counselors help all students:

-apply academic achievement strategies

-manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills

-provide individual student academic planning and goal setting

-collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families for student success

-advocate for students

-act as a systems change agent to help improve equity and access, achievement and opportunities for all students

School counselors are all about helping to make your school experience the best it can be. The role of the school counselor has evolved and changed over the years. Instead of just focusing on schoolwork and careers, today's counselors are there for students in a broader way. They help students handle almost any problem that might get in the way of learning, guide students to productive futures, and try to create a positive environment for everyone at school. So if you need to speak with the counselor about anything, just ask!

Miss Lindsey Opacity, School Counselor/SAC

8th grade counselor

Hello!

My name is Lindsey Opacity and I am the 8th grade School Counselor at Russell O. Brackman Middle School! I hold my Masters Degree in School Counseling, as well as my Student Assistance Coordinator Certification (SAC) from Kean University. I've had the pleasure of completing multiple internships in the Barnegat School District, which has given me the opportunity to work with Barnegat students, K-12. As a School Counselor, my goal is to promote academic, personal, and social/emotional development of all students. I will be meeting with students individually and in small groups throughout the year. I work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, staff, families to encourage a safe and effective learning community for our students.
